About the Role
We are looking for an IT Manager to join a wealth management firm. The business has recently conducted a digital transformation to a Microsoft cloud-first technology stack. We require a balanced IT manager to handle the day-to-day maintenance of operational tasks and working with incumbent outsourced IT service provider.

Key Responsibilities
- Are extensible and take into account present and future business objectives.
- Improve workflow, efficiency and help to streamline business processes.
- Are creative and resourceful, cost effective, scalable and resilient.
- Develop innovation plans, manage risks, and maintain scope and budget alignment.
- Collaborate with internal teams and clients for scheduling, updates, and reporting.
- Provide weekly status reports and escalate issues where necessary.
Major Challenges
- Work with the management team to address business requirements and effectively communicate solutions to solve these issues.
- Providing solutions which address the requirements communicated by management and are within budget.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with external and internal resources.
- Effectively managing unanticipated disasters or service failures, both internal and external, which are detrimental to business continuity.
- Effectively managing of current cyber security landscape
- Ensuring that the company s IT infrastructure stays relevant with the fast pace of business requirements
- Effectively managing time between help desk duties and managing infrastructure.
Requirements, Skills & Experience
- 3+ years in a similar IT Management role.
- extremely competent with Microsoft Windows desktop platforms and server platforms plus accompanying technologies.
- Knowledge of telecommunication technologies and processes.
- Familiar with virtualization and Microsoft cloud technologies (Windows Azure, Microsoft 365).
- Familiar with Accounting line-of-business Technolgies (MYOB AE, Xero, Sage One….)
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals.
- Strong communication, logic and reasoning skills, with the ability to maintain composure under stressful circumstances;
- Creative, resourceful and able to recognise opportunities
- Strong understanding of SMB1001, Privacy Act 1988 (latest changes) and its application within the context of a wealth management environment
Desirable Cyber security and compliance attributes
- Prince2, PMBOK, PMP/PMI, or equivalent certification
- ITIL Foundations v3 certification
- Actively support Essential 8 compliance (patching, application control, admin rights management)
- Implement Microsoft 365 hardening (MFA, Conditional Access, Defender for Endpoint)
- Work with the Infrastructure and Cyber teams to identify remediation tasks and projects.
