About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Release Manager – Principal Engineer to lead and oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of software releases across multiple teams and environments. This role combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership and communication to ensure smooth and reliable deployment processes in a fast-paced, agile environment.
You will serve as the central point of contact for release governance, collaborate with cross-functional teams (DevOps, QA, Development, Product), and continuously enhance the release pipeline through automation, process improvement, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the end-to-end software release lifecycle across environments.
- Develop and implement robust release strategies, schedules, and communication plans.
- Coordinate with engineering, QA, DevOps, and product teams to plan and execute releases efficiently and with minimal disruption.
- Maintain release documentation, checklists, and post-release reviews.
- Identify, communicate, and mitigate risks associated with release activities.
- Establish and refine CI/CD pipelines and ensure automation coverage for deployment.
- Serve as technical escalation point during release and deployment processes.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives for deployment and release practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering or DevOps, with 3+ years in a release management capacity.
- Proven experience managing enterprise-level releases in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong technical background with hands-on experience in CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps).
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Excellent coordination, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of source control, branching strategies, and environment management.
- Experience working with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Nice to Have attributes

- Experience working with security/compliance in regulated environments
- Familiarity with monitoring and incident management tools
