About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Functional Manual Tester to lead the quality assurance efforts across critical software projects. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design and execute test strategies that ensure our applications meet both functional and business requirements. This is a hands-on role requiring expert-level manual testing knowledge and the ability to mentor junior testers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, document, and execute detailed test strategies, test cases, and test scripts.
- Collaborate with product owners, developers, and business analysts to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Identify, log, track, and retest defects to ensure timely delivery of high-quality software.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
- Lead and mentor junior QA engineers, providing guidance on best practices.
- Ensure QA metrics and documentation are up-to-date and comprehensive.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in manual testing of enterprise-level applications.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and defect life cycle.
- Expertise in test case management and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, ALM).
- Solid knowledge of SQL and experience testing database-driven applications.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in fast-paced Agile environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress) is a plus.
- Experience with API testing using Postman or similar tools.
- ISTQB Certification or equivalent is an advantage.
- Background in sectors like banking, insurance, or government projects preferred.
Nice to Have attributes
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum environments.
- Experience testing APIs or using Postman.
- Knowledge of automation tools is a plus.
